Landscape and Deep-Sky Astrophotography

Please join us for this weeks program, Landscape and Deep-Sky Astrophotography in the Heartland with Central Illinois Landscape Photographer, Joshua Rhoades. Tuesday, March 26, 7-9pm

Operating out of his home and taking advantage of the relatively dark skies of Elkhart, IL, Joshua uses multiple telescopes and specialized cameras and equipment to capture ancient light in his deep-space astrophotographs. During various times of the year, Joshua goes mobile with his equipment, finding inspiration in the beauty of Elkhart and surrounding areas and composing beautiful (and arguably typical) midwestern scenes beneath the starry sky. Joshua will be speaking about the processes and techniques used to create deep-space and landscape astrophotographs and will be providing a look at the specialized equipment used, including several different types of telescopes.

If you love the midwest landscape, including old barns and farm trucks, you’ll enjoy experiencing Joshua’s creative vision come to life and viewing his portfolio of award winning images.

First United Methodist Church, 116 NE Perry Ave, Downtown, Peoria. Guests are welcome. Please arrive before 7pm.

Annual Seminar

There has been an increasing number of inquires as to our annual Seminar. Due to circumstances, the Peoria Camera Club will not be hosting a seminar this year and possibly future years to come. There were many factors that contributed to this decision. The Peoria Camera Club would like to thank everyone for their support over the last 20 or so years that we have been hosting this event. I am sure it will be missed by many.

Tecnicraft Printing

Technicraft will be presenting on different printing techniques and finishes including textured printing, giclee prints, wall murals, printing to wood/metal/glass, and canvas. Additionally, information on color calibration, brightness levels, and how paper affects color will be offered. After a brief presentation, the Technicraft team will have breakout groups with samples to answer in-depth questions and allow attendees to experience materials hands-on. The evening will be casual and leave plenty of time for questions.
